Fairmont Woman Wins $3,000 Playing Nebraska Pick 3. Again

DeAnna Smith of Fairmont won $3,000 playing Nebraska Pick 3 from the Nebraska Lottery.

Smith purchased her ticket at Petro Stopping Center at 4700 S Lincoln Ave. in York. The ticket contained five straight plays for the June 1 drawing, each of which matched the winning numbers 3-4-9.

This is far from Smith’s first big Pick 3 win. It’s not even her first big win of 2023.

Just this year she claimed a $3,000 Pick 3 prize in March, a $2,400 Pick 3 prize in January and on December 29, 2022, she claimed a $3,600 Pick 3 prize. A little under a year ago in July 2022, Smith claimed a $15,000 Pick 3 prize.

She’ll get a feeling, she said. For some reason a three-digit number just seems like a lucky pick. Sometimes it’s the ones she missed that keep her playing.

“I was driving to York and the price of diesel was $3.49,” she said. “I had to play it this time because the day before the price was $3.53 and that was the winning number.”

Having missed the 3-5-3 winning combination on May 31, Smith bought herself five tickets for the June 1 drawing with the numbers 3-4-9.

“It’s just a feeling,” she said.

Nebraska Pick 3 drawings are held seven days a week, Monday through Sunday. Prizes in Nebraska Pick 3 range from $1 to $600. The odds of winning range from 1 in 4.12 to 1 in 1,000. In all, there are 9 ways to win.
