Nebraska City Man Wins $9,999 Playing Candy Cane Ca$h
Alan Harker of Nebraska City won $9,999 playing the $10 Scratch game Candy Cane Ca$h from the Nebraska Lottery.
Harker purchased his winning Candy Cane Ca$h ticket at Quik Pik, 401 South 11th Street in Nebraska City. Scratching the ticket, he revealed matching numbers with a corresponding prize of $9,999.
There are nine $9,999 top prizes available in Candy Cane Ca$h. Harker is the second person to claim a top prize to date.
While claiming his prize on November 17, Harker told Nebraska Lottery official that he was “shocked” to realize he had won the top prize. “I was like, ‘Wait a minute – is this right?,’” said Harker. He also stated that he enjoyed the peppermint scent of the ticket. “When I showed the ticket to my daughter, I asked her if it smelled like money, but she said it smelled like candy canes,” said Harker. He plans to pay bills using his winnings.
