2006 Annual Report Available
By November 1 of each year, the Nebraska Lottery is required by law to deliver its written annual report to the Governor and the Legislature. The report is a public record.
The 2006 Annual Report and Resource Guide (for the fiscal year that began on July 1, 2005 and ended on June 30, 2006) contains a number of notable highlights.
Record SalesSales of all Nebraska Lottery games (Scratch and Lotto) for the fiscal year totaled more than $113 million.
Cumulative Sales MilestoneTotal sales for the Nebraska Lottery, as of March 31, were $1,005,764,678. The $1 billion mark was reached on or about March 15.
Beneficiary Fund ContributionsTotal contributions to Nebraska Lottery beneficiary funds passed $250 million with the March quarterly transfer. During the fiscal year, Nebraska Lottery beneficiary funds received a total of $27.6 million.
Record Powerball Jackpot Contributes To BeneficiariesNebraska Lottery beneficiary programs realized about $600,000 from Powerball sales alone in the week leading up to the February 18 drawing for the record $365 million Powerball jackpot which was won in Nebraska. With proceeds from the week’s sales of three other Nebraska Lottery Lotto games (over $400,000) and Scratch ticket sales (over $1 million) the beneficiary funds’ share of sales for the week reached more than $900,000.
ResearchNebraska Lottery research has found that half (55 percent) of the eligible population (age 19 or older) has played a Nebraska Lottery game in the past year.
Website Traffic GrowthDuring the fiscal year, visits to nelottery.com grew by 36 percent to more than 2.3 million.
