Omaha Friends Win $50,000 Playing Powerball

Glenn Bruneau & Karol Dickau of Omaha won $50,000 playing Powerball from the Nebraska Lottery.

Bruneau purchased the ticket at Speedee Mart 2762 at 13804 Manderson Circle in Omaha. The ticket contained one play for the December 24, 2025, Powerball drawing, matching four of the five winning numbers (04, 25, 31, 52, 59) and the Powerball (19).

Bruneau and Dickau have been friends since grade school and they’ve been going in together on Powerball tickets for years. They buy one play for each drawing and planned to split the winnings.

The win nearly didn’t happen, they said. The holidays were busy for both of them and they nearly forgot to play.

“I was on my way to a Christmas party and bought the ticket when I stopped for something to bring with me,” Bruneau said. “Really happy I did.”

Powerball is a multi-state jackpot game currently offered by 45 state lotteries, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of winning $50,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 913,129.18 while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.9.
