Know Your Limit When Playing for Large Powerball Jackpot

The Powerball jackpot has been growing since September 8 without a winner. Because of the high jackpot, the Nebraska Lottery reminds customers to set spending and time limits.

The Powerball jackpot starts at $20 million and continues to grow each drawing until it is won. There have been 34 consecutive Powerball drawings since September 8 without a jackpot winner. This run has grown the estimated jackpot for the Wednesday, November 26 drawing to $681 million or $315.7 million with the cash option selected.

This jackpot run has produced one large Nebraska winner. In the November 5th drawing, a $50,000 million Powerball winning ticket was sold at Git 'n Split #09, 951 West O Street in Lincoln.

The largest Powerball jackpot on record occurred in November 2022 when one winner in California won a $2.040 billion jackpot.

Ten jackpots ranging from $2.5 million to $365 million have been won in Nebraska since the Nebraska Lottery began offering Powerball in July of 1994. The largest Powerball jackpot won in Nebraska occurred in February 2006 when a group of eight coworkers at the ConAgra Foods ham and corned beef plant in Lincoln split a $365 million jackpot.
