Juniata Man Claims Fourth Truck$ & Buck$ Truck

Thomas Treffer of Juniata is the fourth winner of a 2025 Ford F-150 XLT truck in the 30th edition of the Nebraska Lottery’s $2 Truck$ & Buck$ Scratch game.

Treffer purchased his winning Truck$ & Buck$ ticket at Fill-n-Chill at 2815 Parklane Dr. in Hastings. He was presented with his new truck on Thursday, July 24 by Nebraska Lottery officials.

Treffer, a captain with Hastings Fire & Rescue, had just come off a 48-hour shift and had 10 hours before his next shift started. It was also his birthday.

He popped into Fill-n-Chill feeling a little lucky that morning. He plays Scratch occasionally but wasn’t expecting much. He said he’s won before, but maybe $50 at the most.

That was until he scratched off his Truck$ & Buck$ ticket and saw he’d just won a new ride.

“I was like, ‘No way!’” he said. “That wasn’t my exact reaction, but you probably can’t print that one.”

 The 30th edition of the Nebraska Lottery’s popular $2 Truck$ & Buck$ Scratch game features the 2025 Ford F-150 XLT as its top prize. Players have the opportunity to win one of eight Ford F-150 trucks as well as thousands of cash prizes. The truck prize is valued at $79,000, which includes $1,103 for costs associated with ownership and state and federal withholding paid by the Nebraska Lottery of $3,950 and $18,960, respectively. The odds of winning the top prize in Truck$ & Buck$ are 1 in 336,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.69.
