Alliance Man Wins $50,000 Playing Nebraska Pick 5

Richard and Pat Eichhorn

Richard Eichhorn of Alliance won $50,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 from the Nebraska Lottery.

Eichhorn purchased his ticket at Nick’s Gas & Liquor at 224 E 3rd St. in Alliance. The ticket contained a quick pick play for the April 10 drawing and matched the winning numbers 15, 21, 26, 34 and 35.

“I play every day,” Eichhorn said. “Week after week.”

He’s won a few $450 prizes for matching four Pick 5 numbers, but this is the first time he’s gotten them all.

Eichhorn and his wife Pat said they’re thinking they might take a cruise with their winnings. They’ve been on cruises around the world, they said, but there’s still a lot to see out there.

“I’m going to keep playing Pick 5,” Eichhorn said. “I’m going to win even bigger next time. Maybe after another cruise.”

Nebraska Pick 5 is Nebraska’s unique Lottery game: all the proceeds from Nebraska Pick 5 stay in Nebraska, and all the winning tickets are sold in Nebraska at Nebraska Lottery Lotto game retailers. The odds of winning the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot, which starts at $50,000 and grows by $4,000 each drawing that is not won, are 1 in 501,942 while the overall odds of winning a prize in the game, which has drawings seven nights a week, are 1 in 8.
