Omaha Man Wins $100,000 Playing Powerball

Brian Craig

Brian Craig of Omaha won $100,000 playing Powerball from the Nebraska Lottery.

Craig purchased his winning ticket at Mega Saver at 4420 S 24th Street in Omaha. The ticket contained one quick pick play which matched four out of five winning numbers (02, 57, 58, 60, 65) as well as the Powerball number (26) from the November 25 drawing.

Craig said he doesn’t play Lotto games unless the jackpots are getting high. With the November 25 jackpot at $202 million, he decided to buy a ticket.

“I noticed nobody had won yet,” he said. “I had to get gas anyway, so I decided to buy a ticket.”

Craig also purchased the Power Play option for $1, which doubled his winnings from what would have been $50,000 to $100,000.

He’s planning on using his winnings to pay off some bills as well as his house.

Powerball is a multi-state jackpot game currently offered by 45 state lotteries, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of winning $100,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 913,129.18 while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.9.
