Arapahoe Man Wins $100,000 Playing Red Riches

Justin Brooks of Arapahoe won $100,000 playing the Red Riches Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery.

Brooks purchased his winning ticket at Eagle Convenience Store #14 at 651 Chestnut Street in Arapahoe.

“I was dumbfounded,” Brooks said. “It didn’t hit me for a few hours afterward and it just now hit me how much I won.”

Brooks and his wife Hannah Brooks said the win came at a perfect time because they’re right in the middle of buying a house.

Brooks said he plays Scratch games a couple times a month and said he’s won $100 here and there, but he’d never seen anything like what he scratched off this time.

“These zeroes just kept going and going,” he said.

A $10 Scratch game, Red Riches offers players a chance to win prizes from a free $10 ticket to $100,000. The chances of winning $100,000 are one in 100,000, while the odds of winning any prize are one in 3.50.
