Illinois Man Wins $25,000 Playing 25th Anniversary Silver Multiplier
Gregory Babb of Decatur, Illinois won $25,000 playing the 25th Anniversary Silver Multiplier Scratch ticket from the Nebraska Lottery.
Babb, a truck driver, bought his winning ticket at Casey’s General Store #1575 at 301 W 13th St. in Crete after picking up a load at a nearby mill.
After he scratched the ticket, Babb said that he had to have the cashier at Casey’s double check it to make sure he’d won the top prize.
“I was just happy,” Babb said. “When you get to my age, you look back at times when you would have been happy to win $5. I was blessed.”
Babb said his wife recently retired and he’s just about at that point himself. He’s not sure if they’ll stay in Decatur and remodel their home or head somewhere else, but the $25,000 will definitely help with whatever’s next, he said.
As a $20 Scratch game, 25th Anniversary Silver Multiplier offers players a chance to win prizes from $20 to $25,000. The chances of winning $25,000 are one in 21,000, while the odds of winning any prize are one in 2.76.
