Lexington Woman Wins $80,000 Playing Nebraska Pick 5

Nebraska Pick 5Phyllis Holbrook of Lexington won $80,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 from the Nebraska Lottery.

Holbrook purchased her winning ticket from Casey's General Store #2068, 609 Plum Creek Parkway in Lexington. The quick pick ticket contained one play with the winning numbers (09, 10, 15, 21, 31) from the March 7 drawing.

While claiming her prize on March 16, Holbrook told Nebraska Lottery officials that she purchased her winning Nebraska Pick 5 ticket after cashing in a previously purchased ticket. “I won a free ticket, and when I turned it in I decided to buy another ticket with my own money. That was the one that won,” said Holbrook.

When asked how she learned she had won the $80,000 prize, Holbrook said she checked the winning numbers on the Nebraska Lottery website, nelottery.com, after the drawing. “I had the first three numbers, and I thought, ‘Oh my God,’” said Holbrook. “Then I saw the last two numbers and I yelled at my husband to come over and check the ticket. I didn’t believe it.”

Holbrook plans to use the money for a new driveway at her home.
