Florida Woman Wins $50,000 Playing Powerball
Lisa Williams of High Springs, Florida won $50,000 playing Powerball from the Nebraska Lottery.
Williams, who works as a truck driver, was passing through Grand Island when she purchased her winning ticket at Bosselman’s Travel Center, 3335 W. Wood River Road in Grand Island. The winning ticket contained the one play that matched four of the five winning numbers (5,21,57,66 and 69) with the winning Powerball number (13) from the June 7 drawing.
When she came to claim her prize said that she was actually in Lincoln when she learned she had won. Stopping for a break on her way through, she decided to check the Powerball numbers on the Nebraska Lottery’s website. Luckily, she checked as her trucking route changes often and she may not have been able to come through Nebraska for a while.
Williams said that she and her husband have dreams of traveling the country in their own RV when she retires and this money will help them accomplish that goal.
