2015 Annual Report Available

By November 1 of each year, the Nebraska Lottery is required by law to deliver its written annual report to the Governor and the Legislature. The report is a public record.

The 2015 Annual Report and Resource Guide (for the fiscal year that began on July 1, 2014, and ended on June 30, 2015) contains a number of notable highlights.

Operations

On December 8, 2014, the Nebraska Lottery issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Advertising and Marketing Services. Several Nebraska agencies submitted proposals for consideration during the extensive RFP process. On July 1, 2015, SKAR Advertising of Omaha was announced as the agency of record for the Lottery, a title SKAR has held since 2009.

Product Developments

During the fiscal year, the Nebraska Lottery developed a comprehensive effort to promote awareness of Lotto jackpot games with a series of retailer jackpot “blitz” events all across Nebraska. The Why Wait to Win marketing campaign showed players that every Powerball jackpot is a big jackpot. A new $3 Scratch game, Loteria, expanded the Lottery’s efforts to serve Spanish-speaking players. And the Sizzling Summer 7s Scratch games and Summer 7s Giveaway counteracted the seasonal sales decline during the summer months.

Strong Sales

Sales of all Nebraska Lottery games (Scratch and Lotto) for the fiscal year totaled $159.9 million.

Beneficiary Fund Contributions

Total contributions to Nebraska Lottery beneficiary funds passed $564 million with the June quarterly transfer. During the fiscal year, Nebraska Lottery beneficiary funds received a total of $37.1 million.

Beyond these highlights, the 2015 Annual Report and Resource Guide contains information about general operations and major winners claimed at Nebraska Lottery claim centers.
