North Platte Man Wins $47,777 Playing Sizzling Summer 7s Fiery Diamonds

Skyler Hoaglund Skyler Hoaglund of North Platte won $47,777 playing the $5 Scratch game Sizzling Summer 7s Fiery Diamonds from the Nebraska Lottery.

Hoaglund purchased his winning ticket at Pump and Pantry, 2601 Eagle Wins Plaza in North Platte. Scratching the ticket, he matched one of his numbers to a winning number with a $47,777 corresponding prize.

While claiming his prize on Sept. 22, Hoaglund told Nebraska Lottery officials he thought it had to be a joke at first. He buys all his Nebraska Lottery tickets at Pump and Pantry because he used to work there.

“We’ll use it to pay some bills and get a new car,” Hoaglund said of the prize money.

Sizzling Summer 7s Fiery Diamonds had three $47,777 prizes available. Hoaglund was the third person to claim a top prize in the game. The odds of winning the top prize were 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize were 1 in 3.42.
