Grand Island Man Wins $100,000 Playing Nebraska Pick 5

Justin CramerJustin Cramer of Grand Island recently won $100,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 15,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Friday, March 27 drawings. Among these winners was Cramer, who purchased his winning ticket at Cubby’s Gothenburg Express, 416 Platte River Road in Gothenburg. The quick pick ticket contained all five of the winning numbers (1, 7, 11, 17, 30) from the March 27 drawing for the $100,000 jackpot.

Three hundred and twenty-nine Nebraska Lottery players have won the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot to date.

While claiming his prize on April 1, Cramer told Nebraska Lottery officials that he was “surprised” to win the jackpot. “I never usually play Pick 5, but the store was running a promotion where you buy three Scratch tickets and get a free Pick 5 ticket,” said Cramer. He plans to save his winnings for the future.

Nebraska Pick 5 is Nebraska's unique Lottery game: all the proceeds from Nebraska Pick 5 stay in Nebraska, and all the winning tickets are sold in Nebraska at Nebraska Lottery Lotto game retailers. The odds of winning the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot, which starts at $50,000 and grows by $4,000 each drawing that it is not won, are 1 in 501,942. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game, which has drawings six nights a week, are 1 in 8.
