Omaha Man Wins $166,000 Nebraska Pick 5 Jackpot with Free Ticket
Paul Konchagulian of Omaha recently won $166,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 from the Nebraska Lottery.
There were more than 16,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Wednesday, December 3 drawings. Among these winners was Konchagulian, who received his winning ticket at Hy-Vee Drug Store, 8404 North 30th Street. He won the free quick pick ticket as a prize from a previous Nebraska Pick 5 play. The ticket contained all five of the winning numbers (5, 8, 12, 23, 38) from the December 3 drawing for the $166,000 jackpot.
Three hundred and nineteen Nebraska Lottery players have won the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot to date.
While claiming his prize on December 10, Konchagulian told Nebraska Lottery officials that he learned he had won after returning to Hy-Vee to check his ticket. “When the clerk said I was the big winner, I thought she was kidding. I couldn’t believe it,” said Konchagulian. He plans to pay for some home improvements using his winnings.
Nebraska Pick 5 is Nebraska's unique Lottery game: all the proceeds from Nebraska Pick 5 stay in Nebraska, and all the winning tickets are sold in Nebraska at Nebraska Lottery Lotto game retailers. The odds of winning the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot, which starts at $50,000 and grows by $4,000 each drawing that it is not won, are 1 in 501,942. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game, which has drawings six nights a week, are 1 in 8.
