First Truck$ & Buck$ Truck Claimed by Kearney Man

Larry McMaster March 14, 2014 – Larry McMaster of Kearney is the first winner of a 2014 Chevrolet® Silverado™ 1500 Crew Cab Flex Fuel truck in the 19th edition of the Nebraska Lottery’s $2 Truck$ & Buck$ Scratch game.

McMaster recently purchased his winning Truck$ & Buck$ ticket at Family Fresh Market, 3920 Second Avenue in Kearney. Scratching the ticket, he revealed three “Key” symbols in Game 2 for the corresponding truck prize.

Nebraska Lottery officials presented McMaster with his prize on Monday, March 10 at Family Fresh Market. He stated that he purchases Truck$ & Buck$ tickets every year when they are on sale, and that he purchased the winning ticket during the grand opening event at Family Fresh Market. “I told the clerk, ‘I think I’ve got a winner,’” said McMaster. “She ran it through the machine and said, ‘You’ve won a truck!’” McMaster stated that he was “excited” to win the first Truck$ & Buck$ truck this year. “You never really think you’re going to win, but then I did.”

The 19th edition of the Nebraska Lottery’s popular Truck$ & Buck$ Scratch game features the 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Flex Fuel truck as its top prize. Players have the opportunity to win one of three Chevrolet Silverado trucks as well as $783,600 in cash and Ethanol-enriched fuel prizes. The truck prize is valued at $51,000, which includes $1,555 for costs associated with ownership and state and federal withholding paid by the Nebraska Lottery of $2,550 and $12,750, respectively. The odds of winning the top prize in Truck$ & Buck$ are 1 in 240,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.15.

Through May 13, players who send in $10 worth of non-winning $2 Scratch tickets will be entered for a chance to win a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Flex Fuel truck. Two preliminary drawings will be held to select a total of 10 semi-finalists who will compete for cash prizes and the Chevrolet Silverado truck at the Grand Prize drawing event on Sunday, June 8 during the Lincoln Saltdogs home baseball game.
