Bellevue Man Wins $98,000 Playing Nebraska Pick 5

Dale Busboom November 12, 2013 – Dale Busboom of Bellevue recently won $98,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 from the Nebraska Lottery.

Busboom purchased his winning Nebraska Pick 5 ticket at No Frills Supermarket, 1510 Harlan Drive in Bellevue. The ticket was good for multiple draws and contained one quick pick play with all five of the winning numbers (2, 5, 23, 27, 34) from the October 23 drawing for the $90,000 jackpot.

Two hundred and eighty-nine Nebraska Lottery players have won the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot to date.

While claiming his prize on October 28, Busboom told Nebraska Lottery officials that he learned he had won after seeing the winning numbers on the KETV Channel 7 News. “I didn’t believe it at first, so I double-checked with the newspaper,” said Busboom. “Then I went back to the store to check the ticket one more time.” He plans to pay bills and take a trip using his winnings.

Nebraska Pick 5 is Nebraska's unique Lottery game: all the proceeds from Nebraska Pick 5 stay in Nebraska, and all the winning tickets are sold in Nebraska at Nebraska Lottery Lotto game retailers. The odds of winning the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot, which starts at $50,000 and grows by $4,000 each drawing that it is not won, are 1 in 501,942. The overall odds of winning a prize in the game, which has drawings six nights a week, are 1 in 8.
