Grand Island Man Wins $50,000 Playing Mega Cash

December 17, 2012 – Gerardo Gutierrez of Grand Island won $50,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Mega Cash from the Nebraska Lottery.

Gutierrez purchased his winning Mega Cash ticket at Casey’s General Store, 2223 South Locust Street in Grand Island. Scratching the ticket, he revealed matching numbers for a corresponding prize of $50,000.

There were three $50,000 top prizes available in Mega Cash. Gutierrez was the third person to claim a top prize in the game.

Mega Cash was a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offered players the chance to win $1.2 million in cash prizes from $5 to $50,000. The odds of winning the $50,000 top prize in Mega Cash were 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize were 1 in 3.46.
