Lincoln Man Wins $40,000 Playing Mega Millions® with Megaplier®
April 26, 2012 – Aron Wiest of Lincoln recently won $40,000 playing Mega Millions with Megaplier from the Nebraska Lottery.
There were more than 8,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Tuesday, April 10th drawing. Among these winners was Wiest, who purchased a three-draw Mega Millions with Megaplier ticket at The Still, 6820 South 70th Street in Lincoln. The ticket contained four of the five winning white ball numbers (2, 6, 12, 31, 48) and the Mega Ball® number (25) for a $10,000 prize.
Because Wiest added the $1 Megaplier option to his purchase, his $10,000 prize was multiplied by the 4X multiplier for $40,000.
Wiest, who works at The Still, told Nebraska Lottery officials that learned he had won after checking his tickets at the store. “It was a nice surprise,” he said. Wiest plans to pay bills using his winnings.
Mega Millions is a multi-state jackpot game currently offered by 44 lotteries across the United States. The odds of winning $10,000 playing Mega Millions are 1 in 689,065. Adding the $1 Megaplier option, which does not affect the odds of winning, gives players a chance at multiplying their non-jackpot prizes two, three, or four times. The overall odds of winning any Mega Millions prize are 1 in 40.
