$50,000 Chocolate Prize for Columbus Woman

April 5, 2012 – Calan Reppert of Columbus won $50,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Chocolate from the Nebraska Lottery.

Reppert purchased her winning Chocolate ticket at Cubby’s, 1303 Tahazouka Drive in Norfolk. Scratching the ticket, she revealed matching numbers with a corresponding prize of $50,000.

There are three $50,000 top prizes in Chocolate. Reppert is the second person to claim a top prize in the game.

While claiming her prize on March 12, Reppert told Nebraska Lottery officials that this was the first time she had purchased a Scratch ticket. “I was shocked when I scratched it off,” said Reppert. “It was unreal.” She plans to start a college fund for her daughter using her winnings.

Chocolate is a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $1.2 million in cash prizes from $5 to $50,000. The odds of winning the $50,000 top prize in Chocolate are 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize is 1 in 3.46.
