Powerball Reminders
Exciting changes to the Powerball game began on Sunday, January 15.
Changes to Powerball will coincide with the 20th year of the multi-state game. Jackpots will start at $40 million, which is double the current $20 million starting jackpot. The Match 5 prize has changed from $200,000 to $1 million. The white ball side remains at 59 while the red ball side has changed from 39 to 35. The ticket price is $2 per play.
Here are a couple of important things to know about the enhanced Powerball:
- The ‘Play It Again’ ticket repeat feature will not work for Powerball tickets printed before January 15, 2012.
- New Powerball play slips have been distributed to retailers. Old play slips will be rejected by the terminal, and a new play slip must be used.
- Players continue to have the option to play for enhanced prizes by adding Power Play® for an extra $1 per play. Power Play prizes are now fixed, and no multiplier is drawn. A "0x" for the Power Play multiplier will be shown in the drawing results on this website to indicate the change.
