Kearney Man Wins $25,000 Playing The Dog

March 23, 2011 – Cornell Hiemke of Kearney won $25,000 playing the $3 Scratch game The Dog from the Nebraska Lottery.

Hiemke purchased his winning The Dog ticket at Little USA, 5405 West Highway 30 in Kearney. Scratching the ticket, he revealed one “present” symbol for a corresponding prize of $25,000.

There are three $25,000 top prizes available in The Dog. Hiemke is the second person to claim a top prize in the game.

The Dog is a $3 holiday Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $980,400 in cash prizes from $3 to $25,000. The odds of winning the $25,000 top prize in The Dog are 1 in 160,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.41.
