$10,000 Powerball Prize for Lincoln Man

September 14, 2010 – Dan Mayhew of Lincoln recently won $10,000 playing Powerball from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 18,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Saturday, August 21, drawings. Among these winners was Mayhew, who purchased a five-play quick pick Powerball ticket at Fast Mart, 3293 A Street in Lincoln. One play on the ticket contained four of the five winning white ball numbers (7, 10, 12, 22, 27) and the Powerball number (26) from the August 21 drawing for $10,000.

Three hundred and six Nebraska Lottery players have won the $10,000 Powerball prize to date.

While claiming his prize on August 23, Mayhew told Nebraska Lottery officials that he learned he had won after checking the winning numbers on the Nebraska Lottery website, nelottery.com. Mayhew stated that he was “happy” to win, and he plans to save his winnings for the future.

The odds of winning $10,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 723,145, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 35.11.
