Beatrice Man Wins $5,001 Playing MyDaY

February 25, 2010 – Todd Manes of Beatrice recently won a total of $5,001 playing MyDaY from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 22,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Saturday, February 20, drawings. Among these winners was Manes, who purchased his winning MyDaY ticket at K&B Tobacco Outlet, 116 North 8th Street in Beatrice. The five-play quick pick ticket contained one play with the winning Month (3), winning Day (5) and winning Year (57) from the February 20 drawing for the $5,000 top prize.

A second play on the ticket matched the winning Month for $1, making Manes’ total win $5,001.

While claiming his prize on February 22, Manes told Nebraska Lottery officials that he was “excited and surprised” to win. He learned he had won after checking the winning numbers on the Nebraska Lottery web site, nelottery.com. “I didn’t realize I also won the $1 prize,” he said. Manes plans to pay bills using his winnings.

One hundred and nine Nebraska Lottery players have won the MyDaY top prize since the game launched on October 1, 2008.

MyDaY is a new Nebraska Lottery Lotto game with a calendar theme. Players can win up to $5,000 by choosing a six-digit date for each $1 MyDaY play. The odds of winning the $5,000 top prize in MyDaY are 1 in 36,525, and the odds of winning $1 are 1 in 13. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 8.17.
