Yutan Man Wins $62,000 Nebraska Pick 5 Jackpot

January 15, 2010 – Gary Hollst of Yutan recently won $62,000 playing Nebraska Pick 5 from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 7,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Tuesday, January 5, drawings. Among these winners was Hollst, who purchased a quick pick Nebraska Pick 5 ticket at Becks Market, 110 Vine Street in Yutan. The ticket contained all five of the winning numbers (10, 15, 16, 19, 33) from the January 5 drawing for the $62,000 jackpot.

One hundred and ninety-three Nebraska Lottery players have won the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot to date.

While claiming his prize on January 7, Hollst told Nebraska Lottery officials that he purchases Pick 5 tickets for every drawing. He learned he had won after returning to Becks and checking his tickets. Hollst said he was “stunned for awhile” after realizing he had won the $62,000 jackpot. He plans to pay bills using his winnings.

Nebraska Pick 5 is a unique Nebraska Lottery game: all the proceeds from Nebraska Pick 5 stay in Nebraska, and all the winning tickets are sold in Nebraska at Nebraska Lottery Lotto game retailers. The odds of winning the Nebraska Pick 5 jackpot, which starts at $50,000 and grows by $4,000 each time it is not won, are 1 in 501,942 while the overall odds of winning a prize in the game are 1 in 8.
