Omaha Man Wins $10,000 Powerball Prize

June 4, 2009 – Richard Mitchell of Omaha recently won $10,000 playing Powerball from the Nebraska Lottery.

For the May 30 Powerball drawing, Mitchell purchased a single-play quick pick ticket at Hy-Vee, 5150 Center Street in Omaha. One play on the ticket contained four of the five winning white ball numbers (1, 23, 42, 51, 59) and the Powerball number (20) from the May 30 drawing for a corresponding prize of $10,000.

Two hundred and thirty-seven Nebraska Lottery players have won the $10,000 prize in Powerball to date. The odds of winning $10,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 723,145, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 35.11.
