Lincoln Man Wins $1,000 NASCAR® Prize

March 5, 2009 – Leon Igo of Lincoln won $1,000 playing the $2 Scratch game NASCAR® from the Nebraska Lottery.

Igo purchased his winning NASCAR ticket at Hy-Vee, 5020 North 27th Street in Lincoln. Scratching the ticket, he revealed two matching numbers with a corresponding prize of $1,000.

There are five $1,000 prizes available in the NASCAR game. Igo is the first person to claim a $1,000 prize to date.

Based on the #1 spectator sport in the United States, the NASCAR Scratch game offers players the chance to win one of two trips to a NASCAR sanctioned race, and $297,600 in cash prizes from $2 to $1,000. The odds of winning $1,000 playing NASCAR are 1 in 48,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.78.
