Wymore Man Wins $50,000 Championship Poker Top Prize

October 7, 2008 – Kenneth Reed of Wymore won $50,000 playing the $5 Scratch game $50,000 Championship Poker from the Nebraska Lottery.

Reed is a regular Nebraska Lottery player who purchases Scratch tickets every week. He purchased his winning $50,000 Championship Poker ticket at Wymore Express, 321 South 14th Street in Wymore. The ticket contained five cards that, when combined, beat the Champion’s hand for a corresponding prize of $50,000.

There are two $50,000 top prizes available in Championship Poker. Reed is the first person to claim a Championship Poker top prize in this edition of the game.

While claiming his prize, Reed told Nebraska Lottery officials that his “heart was pounding” after he scratched off the ticket and realized he had won $50,000. Reed plans to build a woodshop using his winnings.
