$10,000 Powerball Prize for Omaha Woman

February 28, 2008 – Margaret Nusser-gerlach of Omaha recently won $10,000 playing Powerball from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 20,000 Nebraska Lottery Lotto winners in the Wednesday, February 20, drawings. Among them was Nusser-gerlach, who purchased her winning Powerball ticket at Hy-Vee, 3410 N 156th St in Omaha. The single-play ticket contained four of the five winning white ball numbers (09, 12, 20, 22, 36) and the Powerball number (31) from the February 20 drawing for a corresponding prize of $10,000.

While claiming her prize, Nusser-gerlach told Nebraska Lottery officials that she learned of her win after watching the WOWT Channel 6 News. She then visited the Nebraska Lottery web site, nelottery.com, to double-check her ticket. Nusser-gerlach stated she was “surprised” to win the $10,000 Powerball prize. She plans to donate to charity, travel and save for the future using her winnings.

One-hundred and fifty-nine Nebraska Lottery players have won the $10,000 prize in Powerball to date. The odds of winning $10,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 584,432 while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 36.61.
