Lincoln Woman Wins $5,009 Playing MyDaY

January 28, 2014 – Shari Neal of Lincoln recently won a total of $5,009 playing MyDaY from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 6,500 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Thursday, December 26, 2013, drawings. Among these winners was Neal, who purchased her winning MyDaY ticket at Shell Food Mart, 1107 Belmont Avenue in Lincoln. The four-play ticket was good for six drawings and contained one play with the winning Month (11), winning Day (16), and winning Year (59) from the December 26 drawing for the $5,000 top prize.

A second play contained the winning Day from the December 26 drawing for $4. Another play matched the winning Day from the December 23 drawing for $4, and a third play matched the winning Month from the December 20 drawing for $1, making Neal’s total prize $5,009.

Three hundred and nineteen Nebraska Lottery players have won the MyDaY top prize to date.

While claiming her prize on January 2, Neal told Nebraska Lottery officials that she uses family birthdays to choose her MyDaY numbers. She learned she had won after visiting the Nebraska Lottery web site, nelottery.com. “I checked the website, and I thought, ‘That’s my date,’” said Neal. She plans to pay bills using her winnings.

MyDaY is a Nebraska Lottery Lotto game with a calendar theme. Players can win up to $5,000 by choosing a six-digit date for each $1 MyDaY play. The odds of winning the $5,000 top prize in MyDaY are 1 in 36,525, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 8.17.
