Lincoln Man Wins $100,000 Playing Pure Gold

May 11, 2012 – Joseph Bacon of Lincoln won $100,000 playing the $10 Scratch game Pure Gold from the Nebraska Lottery.

Bacon purchased his winning Pure Gold ticket at Blair One Stop, 1715 Front Street in Blair. Scratching the ticket, he revealed matching numbers in a complete row with a corresponding prize of $100,000.

There are three $100,000 top prizes available in Pure Gold. Bacon is the first person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming his prize on April 30, Bacon told Nebraska Lottery officials that he was “shocked” to realize he had the winning ticket. “I kept reading the ticket over and over, and then I had the clerk scan it,” he said. Bacon plans to save his winnings for the future.

Pure Gold is a $10 Scratch game that offers players the chance to win $2.2 million in cash prizes from $10 to $100,000. The odds of winning the $100,000 top prize in Pure Gold are 1 in 102,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.52.
