Yutan Man Wins $10,000 Powerball Prize

November 12, 2008 – Charles Policky of Yutan recently won $10,000 playing Powerball from the Nebraska Lottery.

Policky is a regular Nebraska Lottery player who purchases Powerball tickets every Saturday. For the November 1 drawing, he purchased five tickets at Beck’s Market, 110 Vine Street in Yutan. One ticket contained four of the five winning white ball numbers (4, 6, 26, 40, 41) and the Powerball number (15) from the November 1 drawing for a corresponding prize of $10,000.

Two hundred and seventeen Nebraska Lottery players have won the $10,000 prize in Powerball to date.

While claiming his prize on November 5, Policky told Nebraska Lottery officials that it was “pretty nice” to win the $10,000 prize after playing Powerball regularly for years. He learned he had won after returning to Beck’s and checking his ticket. Policky plans to save his winnings in order to purchase a new home.

The odds of winning $10,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 584,432, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 36.61.
