An article was recently posted to this blog about how Nebraska Lottery Scratch and Lotto tickets should and should not be used as holiday gifts. As one lucky player recently found out, they also make great anniversary gifts.
My coworkers have been asking me if I have my Christmas shopping done yet and all I can think is that Christmas is still pretty far away, I should be fine. The reality is that as of this writing, Christmas is only 13 days away.
With the Nebraska Lottery’s Yuletide Ride promotion, we are giving players the chance to win a new Jeep® Compass Trailhawk®, which we think is something to sing about.
Deep in the recesses of Lottery HQ there lies a trove of secrets and unimaginable horrors. Tales of woe so terrifying they would make even the most somber person shake in their boots. If you dare to dig deeper into this blog post, remember that there are some things you can’t un-see. To protect the identity of the victims, all of the names, dates and events have been changed. Reader discretion advised.
Winners come into lottery HQ on a regular basis and when they come in, we in the marketing department like to barrage them with questions like “What are your going to do with the money?” or “How does it feel to win?” A lot of the time, the people who come in with winning tickets are too stunned to have an answer for either of those questions, but sometimes we have winners who walk into our office who don’t miss a beat when we ask these questions. Ronald Pleasant of Lincoln won $20,000 playing our $10 Scratch game Winter Takes It All and he knew exactly what he was going to do with his money.
Monday August 21, 2017 was a day of serendipity. For the first time since 1918, a solar eclipse was visible in the contiguous United States and people from across the country and even the world swarmed into places like Nebraska that were in the path of totality, which cut from the Pacific Northwest, across the Heartland and into the East Coast.
The Nebraska State Fair was the cherry on top of the sweet, delicious treat that was our summer and you better believe we were there to kick things off for the opening weekend. As is tradition, we hosted an event on the Bristol Stage Saturday, August 26.
It was a hot day when we handed the keys to a new to truck to Richard Loften of Grand Island. Richard is the sixth winner of a 2017 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 SuperCrew Flex Fuel truck in the 22nd edition of the Nebraska Lottery’s $2 Truck$ & Buck$ Scratch game.
We just wrapped up the first round of the Summer Jackpot Second-Chance Promotion and drew for three semifinalist who will have the opportunity to participate in a Grand Prize contest at the Nebraska State Fair on August 26. Due to the high interest in the contest, we have received a lot of correspondence asking us who the winners might be and when that will be announced.
Our first $1 million Powerball winner in many moons came to claim her prize Monday, May 8 when Melinda Rother of Grand Island walked through our door.
