Look what’s coming to Nebraska
The game of a lifetime – Lucky for Life – will soon be the newest lottery game available to Nebraska Lottery players. Beginning August 20, players will be able to purchase Lucky for Life in retailers across the state.
So, what is Lucky for Life? Lucky for Life started its own life in 2009 when it was known as Lucky-4-Life in Connecticut. It has since grown into a multi-state game and will be available in 25 states once it is offered in Nebraska.
The prizes are a bit different than games like Mega Millions and Powerball due to Lucky for Life’s two annuity prize levels. The first prize winner will receive $1,000 a day for life while the second prize winner receives $25,000 a year for life. The odds of winning $1,000 a day for life is 1 in 30,821,472 while the odds of winning $25,000 a year for life is 1 in 1,813,028. The overall odds of winning are 1 in 7.8.
We are definitely excited about bringing this game into the fold and we hope our players are too. The timing of the games implementation couldn’t be any more perfect. As stated before, the game launches August 20. The following day – August 21 – the solar eclipse will pass over our great state. We thought it rather fitting to celebrate both the new game and the solar eclipse just before the first drawing available to Nebraska players August 21. Keep an eye on our website and the blog in the coming weeks to see how we plan to celebrate.
