A Win Among Friends

Wendy Demery and Maria Preciado do just about everything together so it was no surprise that they would come to claim a winning Scratch ticket together at Lottery HQ. The duo split the prize of $1,000 after playing the Precious Metals Super Ticket.

Two years ago, the friends made a pact that they would split all of the prizes they won playing either Scratch or Lotto tickets. They also agreed to only spend a certain amount on those tickets.

Wendy is a Certified Nursing Assistant and Maria is a Registered Nurse. Their hours can be long and odd. With kids at home and the many responsibilities associated with parenthood, it can be difficult to accomplish everything outside of work, so the duo helps each other as much as possible.

“We’ve been friends forever and we’ve been broke together so we help each other,” Maria said.

“We don’t even keep track anymore, it doesn’t matter,” Wendy added. “We help when it is needed.”

Each will take a portion of the prize money and they definitely share the joy of winning.
