Winning a Truck with Truck$ & Buck$
Truck$ & Buck$ is back and our first winner just picked up their brand-new Ford F-150 XLT 4×4 SuperCrew Flex Fuel truck.
Helen Murray of Oakland purchased her truck-winning ticket at Kwik Shop, 1615 North Bell Street in Fremont. Nebraska Lottery officials presented Murray with her prize on January 26, 2017. “I thought it wasn’t a winner, so I had to go back inside the store and check,” said Murray. “It’s just wonderful to win. I never planned on winning a big one. I’d be happy if I won $100.”
Since 1996, a total of 86 trucks have been given away to lucky winners all across Nebraska. When Truck$ & Buck$ is back in the circulation, many people begin to hope that their driveways will soon be home to a new Ford F-150. Even people like Eugene Sempek who was a winner of Truck$ & Buck$ in 2015.
“I’m buying tickets right now and hopefully I can get a new one,” he said.
Sempek told us that there were a few choice words spoken when he saw he had won a new truck and he hopes he can recapture that moment again so that his wife can have a truck to match his.
“There’s a lot of stuff on here I don’t hardly use,” he said. “It’s a good truck, I think.”
Not everybody opts to keep their truck, however, like Patrick Logelin. Logelin has recently purchased a Jeep Wrangler prior to winning his 2016 F-150. He weighed his options and ultimately decided that by selling his truck, he could pay off debts and afford to take his family on a trip to Cancun, Mexico. Not a bad trade-off, but Logelin wishes he could have kept the truck and has purchased Truck$ & Buck$ tickets for this year’s game. Whenever anybody asks him about the lottery, he simply says, “You can’t win if you don’t play.”

Sorry I mean if you won a truck do you have to pay sales tax on it?

Patrick, the full value of the prize includes the truck as well as $1,697 for costs associated with ownership and state and federal withholding paid by the Nebraska Lottery. Sales tax is not a concern for our truck winners.
