SCAM ALERT: Fake Facebook Powerball Contest
We at the Nebraska Lottery again remind everyone of the ever important fact: you can’t win if you don’t buy a ticket.
Sometimes we say that to encourage people to have a chance at millions of dollars. Today we’re saying it to protect our players.
If you recently saw a Facebook page or post that encouraged you to “like,” “share” or click a link to enter to win a Powerball prize of $1 million, please do not do so. It’s a scam! The only way you can win a sum of money offered by Powerball is by purchasing a ticket at your local Nebraska Lottery retailer.
Officials with the Multi-State Lottery Association are working to shut down these scamming websites and pages.
If anyone you know shared this post, please let them know it’s a scam.
The official Powerball website is www.powerball.com. There is no official Facebook page for Powerball.
