Fairbury Man Wins $5,000 Playing MyDaY

April 1, 2014 – James Boyer of Fairbury recently won $5,000 playing MyDaY from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 25,400 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Monday, March 24 drawings. Among these winners was Boyer, who purchased his winning MyDaY ticket at Ray’s Apple Market, 1415 K Street in Fairbury. The one-play ticket was good for five drawings and contained the winning Month (5), Day (24) and Year (40) from the March 24 drawing for the $5,000 top prize.

Boyer is a regular MyDaY player at Ray’s Apple Market and plays his birthday numbers.  When he stopped at his other favorite retailer, Shell Food Mart in Hebron, he nearly didn’t believe the clerk who told him he had won. 

“When I walked in the store, the clerk said I was the big winner,” said Boyer. “I said no because Tuesday’s numbers didn’t match, but she was talking about the Monday drawing.”  He plans to pay bills and purchase new golf clubs with his winnings.

Three hundred and twenty-nine Nebraska Lottery players have won the MyDaY top prize to date.

MyDaY is a Nebraska Lottery Lotto game with a calendar theme. Players can win up to $5,000 by choosing a six-digit date for each $1 MyDaY play. The odds of winning the $5,000 top prize in MyDaY are 1 in 36,525, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 8.17.
