Truck Roars to Life for Giveaway Winner
August 29, 2011 – In front of a large crowd, 15 semifinalists in the Truck$ & Buck$ Second-Chance Giveaway gathered on August 28 at the Nebraska State Fair in Grand Island to find out who would drive away with a 2011 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 SuperCrew Flex Fuel truck.
After a series of elimination rounds, two finalists remained in the giveaway drawing. Symantha Casteel of Grand Island and Curtis Fry of Hastings took turns selecting keys from a covered container. Only one of the six keys in the container would start the Ford F-150. Casteel made the first attempt to start the truck, but the truck remained silent. Fry then attempted to start the truck. With a roar the F-150 started, surprising both the crowd and the truck’s new owner.
The Truck$ & Buck$ Second-Chance Giveaway allowed players to send in ten dollars worth of non-winning $2 Scratch tickets for the chance to win a 2011 Ford F-150 XLT 4x4 SuperCrew Flex Fuel truck. Three preliminary drawings were held in June, July, and August to select 15 semifinalists who competed in the final Truck$ & Buck$ Second-Chance Giveaway Grand Prize contest on Sunday, August 28, 2011, during the Nebraska State Fair.
