Lincoln Woman Wins $50,000 Super Crossword Prize

December 21, 2009 – Karen Lange of Lincoln won $50,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Super Crossword from the Nebraska Lottery.

Lange purchased her winning Super Crossword ticket at Jackpot Convenience Store, 501 West A Street in Lincoln. The ticket contained 10 complete words in the crossword puzzle for the $50,000 top prize.

There were three top prizes available in Super Crossword. Lange was the third person to claim a Super Crossword top prize.

While claiming her prize on December 15, Lange told Nebraska Lottery officials that she didn’t believe she had won the $50,000 top prize after scratching the ticket. “I just kept checking it. I was so excited,” said Lange. She plans to pay bills using her winnings.

Super Crossword was a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offered players the chance to win $1,226,000 in cash prizes from $5 to $50,000. The odds of winning the $50,000 top prize in Super Crossword were 1 in 240,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize were 1 in 3.24.
