Lincoln Man Wins $10,000 Powerball Prize

November 20, 2009 – Frank Schaffer Jr. of Lincoln recently won $10,000 playing Powerball from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 18,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Wednesday, November 11, drawings. Among these winners was Schaffer, who purchased a three-play quick pick Powerball ticket at Super C, 3275 Sheridan Boulevard in Lincoln. One play on the ticket contained four of the five white ball numbers (8, 12, 14, 22, 29) and the Powerball number (22) from the November 11 drawing for $10,000.

Two hundred and fifty-seven Nebraska Lottery players have won the $10,000 prize in Powerball to date.

While claiming his prize on November 13, Schaffer told Nebraska Lottery officials that he was “glad to win” the $10,000 prize. He learned he had won after returning to Super C and checking his ticket. Schaffer has no definite plans for his winnings at this time.

The odds of winning $10,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 723,145, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 35.11.
