$20,000 Powerball with Power Play Prize for Papillion Woman

November 18, 2009 – Cheryl Terrill of Papillion recently won $20,000 playing Powerball with Power Play from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 18,000 Nebraska Lottery winners in the Saturday, October 24, drawings. Among these winners was Terrill, who purchased a three-play Powerball ticket at Baker's Supermarket, 3614 Twin Creek Drive in Bellevue. One play on the ticket contained four of the five white ball numbers (14, 22, 38, 49, 59) and the Powerball number (16) from the October 24 drawing for $10,000.

Because Terrill added the $1 Power Play option to her purchase, her $10,000 prize was automatically multiplied by the 2x multiplier for a total of $20,000.

Two hundred and fifty-seven Nebraska Lottery players have won the $10,000 prize in Powerball to date. The odds of winning $10,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 723,145, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 35.11. Adding the $1 Power Play option, which does not affect the odds of winning, gives players a 1 in 4 chance at multiplying their winnings between 2 and 5 times.
