Omaha Retailer Receives $20,000 High Prize Seller Bonus

August 5, 2009 – The Nebraska Lottery recently presented an Omaha retailer with a $20,000 bonus for selling a $2 million Powerball with Power Play winning ticket.

Nebraska Lottery retailers receive a High Prize Seller Bonus for selling winning high-tier Scratch and Lotto tickets. This bonus is 1% of the prize won, with a cap of $50,000.

For the Wednesday, July 22 Powerball drawing, a Powerball with Power Play ticket was sold at Kwik Shop #657, 7525 Cass Street in Omaha. This ticket contained two $1 million winning plays, resulting in a $20,000 bonus for the store. The bonus was credited to Kwik Shop’s retailer account on the day following the drawing.

The Nebraska Lottery sells Scratch & Lotto tickets through a retailer network of more than 1,200 locations statewide. Nebraska Lottery retailers range from convenience stores to supermarkets and from service stations to cafes. Nebraska Lottery retailers receive a 5 percent commission on each ticket sold, and can qualify for additional bonuses and incentives. Nebraska Lottery retailers earned more than $7 million in commissions during the fiscal year that ended on June 30, 2008.
