Madison Man Wins $10,000 Powerball Prize

August 8, 2008 – Joseph Schmitz of Madison won $10,000 playing Powerball from the Nebraska Lottery.

There were more than 17,000 Nebraska Lottery Lotto winners in the Saturday, August 2, drawings. Among these winners was Schmitz, who purchased a five-play quick pick ticket at Kum & Go, 101 East Omaha Ave in Norfolk. One play on the ticket contained four of the five winning white ball numbers (2, 5, 28, 33, 54) and the Powerball number (30) from the August 2 drawing for a corresponding prize of $10,000.

One hundred and ninety-eight Nebraska Lottery players have won the $10,000 prize in Powerball to date. The odds of winning $10,000 playing Powerball are 1 in 584,432, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 36.61.
