Kearney Woman Wins $1,000 Playing Word Search

August 7, 2008 – Megan Vasquez of Kearney won $1,000 playing the $3 Scratch game Word Search from the Nebraska Lottery.

Vasquez purchased her winning Word Search ticket at Foote Convenience Plaza, 1810 East Highway 30 in Kearney. Scratching the ticket, she revealed 12 complete words for a corresponding prize of $1,000.

There are three $1,000 prizes available in Word Search. Vasquez is the first person to claim a $1,000 prize to date.

Word Search is a $3 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $979,400 in cash prizes from $3 to $35,000. The odds of winning $1,000 playing Word Search are 1 in 160,000 while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.57.
