Grand Island Man Wins $40,000 Playing Ruby Red Line Big Bingo

Joseph Ewoldt of Grand Island won $40,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Ruby Red Line Big Bingo from the Nebraska Lottery.

Ewoldt purchased his winning Ruby Red Line Big Bingo ticket at Pump & Pantry, 821 South Webb Road in Grand Island. Scratching the ticket, he revealed matching numbers with a corresponding prize of $40,000.

There are three $40,000 top prizes available in Ruby Red Line Big Bingo. Ewoldt is the second person to claim a top prize to date.

While claiming his prize on July 31, Ewoldt told Nebraska Lottery officials that he was “shocked” to win the $40,000 prize. “I looked at it for quite a while, and then I waited for the store to clear out before I went to the counter to check the ticket,” said Ewoldt. “The clerk was pretty excited after she scanned it.” Ewoldt plans to buy a new truck using his winnings.

Ruby Red Line Big Bingo is a $5 Scratch game from the Nebraska Lottery that offers players the chance to win $1.6 million in cash prizes from $5 to $40,000. The odds of winning the top prize in Ruby Red Line Big Bingo are 1 in 160,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.50.
