Powerball® Multi-Draws Reduced for Upcoming Game Changes
To prepare for the upcoming changes to the Powerball game in October 2015, the Nebraska Lottery is temporarily reducing the amount of drawings that can be purchased on a ticket.
Lotto tickets can be purchased in advance with the same numbers for up to 24 consecutive drawings using the multi-draw feature. With the upcoming changes to Powerball, the maximum number of Powerball multi-draws that can be purchased on a ticket will be reduced with each successive drawing starting on July 15. Once the final drawing (October 3) under the game's current matrix has taken place, it will again be possible to purchase multi-draw tickets for up to 24 consecutive drawings.

Powerball member lotteries voted in May to make improvements to the game starting October 4. The upcoming changes should allow the game to continue to deliver big jackpots while offering significant non-jackpot prizes. There will be better overall odds of winning any prize, a new $50,000 prize for the game’s third prize level, and a chance for players to multiply most winnings by up to 10 times with the Power Play® option. Plays will still cost $2 each, or $3 with the Power Play option.
This is the eighth redesign for the best-known multi-state jackpot game since it was created in 1992. The last change was in January 2014.
