Bellevue Man Wins $50,000 Playing Cash Club

Patrick MitchellPatrick Mitchell of Bellevue won $50,000 playing the $5 Scratch game Cash Club from the Nebraska Lottery.

Mitchell purchased his winning ticket at BP, 13746 Q Street in Omaha. He claimed one of three top prizes in Cash Club. Mitchell is the second person to claim a top prize.

While claiming his prize on June 10, Mitchell told Nebraska Lottery officials that he plays Scratch games a few times a week. He usually plays at the same gas station, buying lunch and a $3 Scratch ticket. He says he didn’t buy lunch this time and decided to purchase a $5 ticket instead of his usual ticket, which turned out to be his winning ticket.

Because he frequents that BP, he says that the gas station’s staff was nearly as excited as he was when he scratched off the ticket and won $50,000.

Cash Club is a $5 Scratch game that offers players the chance to win $1.2 million in cash prizes from $5 to $50,000. The odds of winning the top prize in Cash Club are 1 in 120,000, while the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 3.57.
