Ralston Woman Wins $35,000 Playing Bonus Crossword

Susan CatlettSusan Catlett of Ralston won $35,000 playing the $3 Scratch game Bonus Crossword from the Nebraska Lottery.

Catlett purchased her winning Bonus Crossword ticket at Casey’s General Store, 1221 Harlan Street in Falls City. Scratching the ticket, she revealed 10 complete words for the $35,000 top prize.

There are nine $35,000 top prizes available in Bonus Crossword. Catlett is the first person to claim a top prize in the game.

While claiming her prize on February 26, Catlett told Nebraska Lottery officials that she purchased her winning ticket during a trip to visit relatives. “At first I thought I only had nine words on the ticket,” said Catlett. “After I realized there were 10 words on the ticket, I had a joyous night celebrating with my family.” She plans to pay for some home remodeling projects and set up a college fund for her grandson using her winnings.

Bonus Crossword is a $3 Scratch game that offers players the chance to win $8.4 million in cash prizes from $3 to $35,000. The odds of winning the $35,000 top prize in Bonus Crossword are 1 in 480,000, while the overall odds are 1 in 3.40.
